Down Climb 3 and Down Climb Micros

What goes up, must come down.

Climb, verb, go up or ascend, especially by using the feet and hands.

Climbing is all about going up, it’s easy to forget that 50% of climbing is coming back down. On ropes it’s easy, you just sit back into the rope or auto belay, and gently lower down. Boulders are a little different. We either fall unexpectedly on the way up or we succeed. At the top we’re left with two options, drop off (scary) or find a path back down. Today’s lower density walls don’t always provide a ‘nice’ way down, and walls keep getting bigger and bigger.

Enter the Down Climb 3 and Down Climb Small Micros. From a safety perspective, we want to minimize as many unnecessary impacts to the climber as possible. As curators of fun & recreation we want to offer an enjoyable experience. Down climb holds tick both of these boxes. A nice path to descend and an easy exit when the climber is unsure and loses confidence.

Down climb holds not only offer a way off the wall, but a way into sequences. Climbers can use down climbing holds to pull and climb into sequence they might not be able to reach. No need to add a random colored hold or set something easy over top of the route. Placing down climb holds in strategic point on route, can allow for a better projecting experience.

Down climb 3 is a great choice for your down climb needs. A large positive jug with a rounded lip is easy to grab but doesn’t wear your hands down. Minimizing jug rash and flappers when used repeatedly. Texture paired with dual texture gives you grip where you need it but keeps the down arrow clear and visible. Making our down climb holds easy to use, easy to spot, but subtle so as to not draw attention away from the commercial routes.

Give your climbers extra support by using Down Climb Small Micros. Having routes near down climb holds doesn’t guarantee good feet while descending. Dual texture, slopers, volumes, and other challenging holds can be hard to stand on as you work your way down. Down Climb Small Micros provide a small but positive platform to ease your climber off the wall. No need to drop from any height when you can work your feet back to the pad.

Down Climb #3 in sets of five, fifty, or one hundred. Down Climb Small Micros sets of five.
